Drywall & Wall Finishing

Drywall & Wall Finishing

All Things Handy

Drywall damage is one of those things you see every day but keep putting off. Holes from doorknobs, water stains on the ceiling, cracks along seams, or patches from old TV mounts — I fix them all. I'm Wayne Lewis with All Things Handy, and drywall work is one of my most frequent jobs. I handle everything from small patches to full ceiling replacements, including mud, tape, texture matching, and paint-ready finishing. When I'm done, you won't be able to tell where the repair was.

What Drywall Work Costs

A drywall ceiling replacement with mud, tape, and texture runs around $550 for a standard room. Smaller patch jobs are less — it depends on the size and number of repairs. I always quote the full scope upfront so there are no surprises. Service calls start at $75, and labor runs $75 per hour. Most drywall patches take under an hour; ceiling replacements are a half-day job.

How much does drywall repair cost?

In Utah County, a drywall ceiling replacement with mud, tape, and texture costs around $550 for a standard room. Smaller patch jobs are less — most take under an hour at $75/hour plus a $75 service call. The cost depends on the size and number of repairs needed.

Bundled With Other Work

Drywall often comes as part of a bigger project — after ceiling fan installs, electrical work, or plumbing repairs. I handle the patching in the same visit so you're not booking a second contractor to clean up after the first one. That's the advantage of a handyman who does it all: one call, one visit, one invoice.

Can you match existing wall texture?

Yes. A skilled handyman can match common textures including knockdown, orange peel, and smooth finishes. The key is applying the right technique and letting it dry before comparing. When done properly, you shouldn't be able to tell where the repair was.

How do I know if my drywall needs to be replaced or just patched?

Drywall that is soft, crumbling, moldy, or has large holes needs to be cut out and replaced with new material. Drywall with hairline cracks, small holes, nail pops, or surface damage can be patched and refinished. A handyman can assess the damage on-site and recommend the right approach before starting work.

I serve homeowners across Utah County and Juab County — including Payson, Mason, Salem, Spanish Fork, Springville, and Elk Ridge. Call (385) 438-7442 for a free estimate.
